Former Celtic Kendrick Perkins signs to play in Ice Cube's BIG3 League

Former Celtics center, Kendrick Perkins has signed to play this summer in Ice Cube's BIG3 League. The BIG3 features 3-on-3 competition and tours the country during the off-season summer months.

Perkins was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the #27 pick in the 2003 NBA draft, and he was immediately traded to the Boston Celtics. The 6'10', 270-pound Perkins often had the role of enforcer with Boston, but he was the starting center on the 2008 Championship squad alongside Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo.

I had the pleasure of being chosen as part of the press corps covering the BIG3 games in Boston last summer. The games are fast-paced and competitive, and the players are very accessible to fans. They go out of their way to sign autographs and interact with patrons. We wish Kendrick the best in his new endeavor, and we wish the BIG3 continued success with their League.
