Marcus Smart re-injures surgically-repaired thumb, hopefully minor

Looks like the injury bug is already trying to take nibbles at the Boston Celtics.

On the heels of news big man Aron Baynes may miss time because of a hamstring injury comes word Marcus Smart re-injured his surgically-repaired thumb. While the team may be blessed with enough depth to weather injuries like this, it's not exactly optimal that three games into the regular season things are already starting to get rough in the health department.

Granted, compared to this time last year, Boston is the picture of health, but even still, Smart's intensity (behind the injury in the first place) is a crucial component of the "Attitude" of the "Bench With" of the BWA, and makes winning plays the team will need to stay ahead of the Toronto Raptors in the seeding race (and after their first meeting, it's looking like they'll need home court advantage).

For now, no word on if Smart will need to miss time, too, but after having the thumb heavily wrapped post-game, don't be surprised to see Terry Rozier soak up some of his minutes this week.
