Danny Ainge scouts DeAndre Ayton and Robert Williams

Danny Ainge was in attendance at the Arizona versus Texas A&M game yesterday and got a chance to evaluate potential 2018 lottery picks DeAndre Ayton and Robert Williams. In SI's most-recent 2018 mock draft, Ayton is slated to go first and Williams sixth. Boston currently owns the Los Angeles Lakers' pick if it falls between two and five. Ainge can be seen talking to Bill Walton prior to the game in the tweet below:

Ayton's line for the game shows 13 points on four-of-nine field goals and five-of-six from the foul line. He also had 10 rebounds, three assists and one block. DeAndre was zero-for-two on three-pointers. Williams only scored four points to go with seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

The Lakers are now at 8-15 and have lost their last five games. There are a number of big men in the upcoming draft, and Ayton and Williams are two of them. The chance of the Lakers' pick falling between two and five is far from a sure thing, but Ainge is always prepared. Ayton appears to be quite a prize. Danny didn't get his nickname, Trader Danny, for no reason and the possibility of a deal is always there. Some highlights of Ayton's game can be seen in the video below:
