C's and Philly pick swap is official, here's the details with comments from Ainge

The details of the deal sending the number 1 pick to the Philadelphia 76ers have emerged and the trade is now official after passing through the league office this afternoon:

The protections in place are an effort by Ainge to get the Celtics the best selection possible amid all the picks Philly has over the next two seasons, although it's a little disheartening that if any of them are #1 overall they will not be coming to Boston. I mean, who'd be crazy enough to give up the 1st pick in the draft!?! Oh, right.

Danny Ainge also released some comments in conjunction with the press release regarding the deal today. Via Celtics.com:

“We’re thrilled to be able to select what we expect be an impact player with the third pick in this year’s very talented draft class, while also adding a highly valuable future asset as we continue to build towards Banner 18,” said Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.

I'm not entirely sure how Ainge could know who exactly will be available at 3 considering the Lakers aren't exactly locked into anyone at #2, but we shall see.
