Report: Celtics discuss trade for Denver's Ty Lawson

The Denver Nuggets' Ty Lawson is the subject of exploratory trade talks with the Boston Celtics.
According to reports, the Boston Celtics have been in "exploratory" talks with Denver regarding their 28 year old point guard.

Grantland's Zach Lowe writes that Denver will not deal Lawson unless it gets a "bounty." Also of note, he says Boston will not include Marcus Smart in any Lawson deal.

Also recall that Lawson was speeding 61 mph in a 35 mph zone last month, which led to his second DUI arrest.

Danny Ainge continues to keep his options open, and maybe the exploratory talks are just that--exploratory, and nothing more. Via MassLive.com's Jay King:

"You never know what happens at the trade deadline," Ainge recently told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich. "But we're ready, we have a lot of bullets in our arsenal right now.

"We have a lot of assets that we can move for lots of different things and go in a lot of different directions at this point. This is one of those turning points. But I think there's not teams that are looking to make those kinds of major changes, is my perspective right now heading into this trade deadline. So I'm not sure what may happen."

Lawson is set to earn $12.4 million in 2015-2016 and $13.2 million in 2016-2017.
