Gerald Wallace seems pretty pissed about not being a starter

Gary Washburn passed along some quotes from the often outspoken Wallace about the starting lineup tonight, which has him coming off the bench.

In short? Wallace does not sound happy.

Wallace hasn't exactly played well enough to start the season (he took 0 shots the other night), but that hasn't stopped him from talking about how unhappy he was. In a Herald piece this morning, Wallace talked about how uncomfortable he was being on a rebuilding team at this stage of his career. Now he's being benched?

Gary Washburn:
"I don’t know. This is the first time for me. I never came off the bench, other than about three years in Sacramento, where they were garbage minutes," he said. "I’ve always been a starter. I worked my tail off in the league to become a starter. It’s something that’s new to me. I approach the role the same way I did as a starter, and see what I can do from there."

Wallace has been outspoken since arriving in Boston and he appears unsure of the team's plan considering the Celtics are in a rebuilding mode.

"I’m just trying to make sense of everything. I’m trying to figure out what’s really going on and go from there," he said. "I don’t have a clue. I don’t know what’s going on. My thing is, when I’m on the court, I compete to win. And when I’m not, it’s just cheer my guys on and hopefully we’ll get a win tonight."

Wallace also added that "they can do whatever they want to do".

We're four games in folks!

The Celtics have already tried to trade Wallace, but that didn't take. Maybe he shouldn't have signed a terrible contract if he didn't want to bounce around on bad teams.
