Celtics fall to 0-4 in Memphis

The Boston Celtics faced off in their first back-to-back of the season Monday night in Memphis. The Celts played the Grizzlies tough in by far their most impressive showing on the young season, but they still came up short 95-88.

Jeff Green led the way for Boston with 22 points and five rebounds. Avery Bradley had a strong showing as well with 14 points to go with three helpers. Jordan Crawford and Jared Sullinger came up big off the bench. Crawford had 12 points, four assists and three steals. Sully had 16 points along with five boards.

Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol led a balanced attack for Memphis with 15 and 14 points respectively.

Gerald Wallace left the game in the 3rd quarter with a knee injury and did not return. Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and Phil Pressey all did not enter the game.

It was a valiant effort by the C's, but still not enough to collect their first victory of the season. The Celtics next test will be Wednesday night back at the Garden against the winless Utah Jazz… something has got to give.
