Celtics dead last (#30) in ESPN's NBA Power Rankings

#30, Brandon Bass
The above title is not one I ever thought I would write.  In the Week 2 edition of Marc Stein's ESPN power rankings, the Boston Celtics are 30th out of 30 NBA teams.  After beginning the season at #25, the C's 0-3 record has dropped them to the bottom of the barrel.  The funny thing is Boston isn't really all that far from being 3-0; they've had a lead in the 4th quarter of every game so far.

It's also worth noting that Stein is incredibly fickle with his rankings.  They in no way represent his actual perception of which teams are the best (take a look at the top three: Pacers #1, Rockets #2, and Timberwolves #3), but instead fall under the "what have you done for me lately" category (the 3-0 Sixers at #10 being a prime example).

Brandon Bass is pictured strictly for his uniform number, not his role in the Celtics winless start.  He's actually been putting up solid numbers as the starting power forward spot, averaging 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from the field and 92.3% from the free throw line.
