Kelly Olynyk is NBA.com's top ranked Summer League Player

Kelly Olynyk dominated the summer league; he was the leading scorer in Orlando averaging 18.0 PPG and 7.8 RPG while shooting 58% from the floor. From the get go he was the buzz around summer league, in the first game he dropped 25 points and showed significant ability to score the basketball in a variety of ways. He hit mid-range jumpers, and he scored with different moves around the rim. For comparison sake, last year in summer league Jared Sullinger averaged 13.8 PPG and 8.3 RPG.

I look forward to seeing how Rondo and Olynyk work together, that pick and roll could be a thing of wonders. Who knows if Olynyk will be in contention for Rookie of the Year, but as of right now he’s on top of the rookie ladder on NBA.com:

1. Kelly Olynyk : BOSTON CELTICS

Olynyk wrapped up an impressive run in Orlando with 12 points and seven boards in just 15 minutes of work. All told, he finished as the rookie leader in scoring (19.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg) on 57.8 percent shooting. Now, we'll just have to see if anyone in Vegas can overtake him for the top rung. -- July 12

Here is an awesome highlight reel of his work this summer:
