Player Grades:

Kevin Garnett: 7 Points, 10 Rebounds
An unusually rough shooting night from KG, he shot a mere 18%. He did not seem to be in rhythm and made some poor decisions as well. His energy also seemed to not entirely be there. He rebounded well and did a good job on defense, but it is hard to overlook his struggles offensively today.
B-

Brandon Bass: 6 Points, 3 Rebounds
Bass battled foul trouble and poor decisions all night. He was far too thoughtless with the ball, and he played only 17 minutes. His defense was solid, but tonight was not a great one for him.
B-

Paul Pierce: 19 Points, 6 Assists
The Captain had an interesting game tonight. He shot way too many 3s, and he seemed out of rhythm on a lot of his shots. He did a good job distributing, but it is hard to ignore his poor shooting, and his bad shot selection. He does get props from me for making some nice plays down the stretch (including attacking the basket!) He had a tough night to grade.
B

Rajon Rondo: 17 Points, 12 Assists, 10 Rebounds
Triple-double from Rondo! Rondo had basically a perfect game. He barely turned the ball over (2), was efficient (8-11), and played solid defense. He also had quite a few highlight plays, including an amazing pass to a cutting Courtney Lee. This has to be in discussion for one of his better games of the year.
A

Avery Bradley: 16 Points, 2 Blocks
Avery did an excellent job tonight. I would take this happily every game. He shot 4-7 from 3! This team needs more 3-point shooting, and Avery rediscovering his stroke is key to that. When Avery's offense is clicking with his awesome defense, he is a must-watch player.
A-

Jared Sullinger: 8 Points, 5 Rebounds
Battled foul trouble all night, but was effective when he was on the court. Rebounded hard and did a good job scoring when his number was called. His game cries out for some more touches, considering how effective he is already with so few. Good effort from the rookie tonight.
B+

Jeff Green: 11 Points, 4 Rebounds
Green continues his strong play! He scored efficiently, grabbed some rebounds, and put some good effort out there. Not an amazing game by any means, but a solid one. And considering the stretch he has been on, it is a very acceptable outing.
B+

Jason Collins: 3 Points, 4 Rebounds
Collins actually had a great game tonight. He only played 8 minutes, but his fingerprints were all over the court during his time on it.
B

Courtney Lee: 9 Points
Courtney Lee was apparently a bit sick tonight, so his quality minutes are appreciated. He did not do much, but gave us a couple points and some hustle. A good night from a less-than 100% Lee.
B

Jason Terry:
Made little impact tonight. He is still in the midst of his slump.
C

Leandro Barbosa: 4 Points
Barbosa should continue to be commended for producing whenever he gets minutes (rare as that may be). He came in and immediately showed off some fancy moves. His lack of minutes is due to depth not his own poor play.
B

Boston Celtics: 100 Points, 42 Rebounds, 27 Assists
It was a solid win for the Celtics. A main piece in Garnett struggled, but the game was still won fairly easily. The Celtics shot well offensively (49/38/70) and out-rebounded the Bobcats 42-34. The defense was shaky, and the team did not exhibit one of their finer efforts on that end. There was also a stretch when the Bobcats came back to almost take the lead when the Celtics were content to keep shooting jumpers and not attack the basket. That is an underlying problem still facing this team. Still the Celtics improve to 20-17, and are now on a 6-game winning streak. Winning against the bad teams are what good teams are supposed to do. Boston takes on New Orleans next on Wednesday, 01/16/13.
