Krstic no longer an option for C's

The Celtics still own the Bird rights for Nenad Krstic.  They have an $8.3 million cap hold on their books holding a spot for him.  With the Celtics still being short on true centers, and Krstic's announced desire to possibly return to the Celtics this season,  there has been some talk of the Serbian big man returning to the Celtics.

That door has now been closed as Krstic's European club, CKSA Moscow is reporting that Krstic has signed a new contract with the club that will run until the end of 2013-14 season with club’s option for another year.

Krstic played very well in Europe last year and could have helped the Celtics. He's definitely better than not having a center, which is where they are now. I have a feeling that KG was pulling for them to bring back Krstic so he won't have to play center again. The Celtics have Melo, but judging from his Summer League debut, he's big but he's also raw and may take some time to develop.

For his part, Krstic seems to be happy with the decision to return to Europe rather than come back to the NBA.
