Doc Rivers in Boston for Throat Surgery

Doc has had a lot of candid and honest things to say the past couple days including that he didn't like the timing of the Perk trade and that without the trade the Celtics would have remained the #1 seed. I guess Doc wanted to get it all out now because he won't be able to speak again for two weeks.

ESPN Boston
Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers has returned to Boston from his Orlando, Fla., home to undergo surgery on Tuesday for a non-cancerous growth on his throat, a league source said.

Doc Rivers says that coaches are at risk of throat problems due to all the yelling they do during games. Rivers will not be able to speak for two weeks after the procedure, according to the Boston Herald, which first reported the story.

"My wife will be the happiest person in the room about that," Rivers said, according to the newspaper.
Get well quick Doc. Glad to have you back and healthy in Boston for 5 more years.
