"I didn't want any lovefest...hugging, slapping high fives....you're there for a reason, you're there to win a game"-Larry Bird
There have been so many great Bird memories. What are yours? Again, happy birthday Larry and thank you for everything you have done for the Celtics franchise.
Below is a post I wrote on the Larry Bird and Magic HBO documentary. For anyone who hasn't seen the documentary they should check it out.

Mine are all reproducted, I was just a child when he retired.
Every single human being on this wretched planet should see "Bird & Magic". No questions allowed...
I admire Larry. I didn´t have the chance to see him play live in his glorious days, but I saw his last year and the 1992 DREAM TEAM. Through the years, I learned about his life and catched those legendary games. The HBO documental is something you can use to fill your heart.
I always loved the fact that Larry was (and still is) the best ball player out there, millionaire, he could do whatever he wanted. But still he was DECENT, smart, simple, a real person who answered with the facts and the hoops. Never cared about the showbiz. You wanted to interview him? Larry was there, cutting the grass off his yard. Any problem? He solved those in the field, and we all know that nobody can hide out there.
Larry Bird influenced me in several aspects of my life. And He is one of the toughest fuckers in the earth...
