Take a Minute to be Thankful

Sure I probably should've posted this around Thanksgiving.  But watching the Knicks-Bobcats game tonight got me thinking: it truly is amazing being a Celtics fan.  Sure there's that detested team from LA that's giving our beloved C's a real challenge for all-time NBA supremacy (regarding number of titles) and that's a bridge I didn't think I'd have to cross in my lifetime (well at least not this soon in my lifetime).  But let's face it, it could be a whole lot worse.

We could have Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari and Chris Duhon to cheer for as opposed to Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo.  We could have the corpse of Jonathan Bender instead of Rasheed Wallace.  We could have a paltry 2 championship banners in our not-so-illustrious history instead of the 17 that hover over the beloved home of the C's.  But we don't.

We have a juggernaut of a team, built to win right now, and are 1 of about 5 legitimate teams that can win the NBA title this year.  We're not playing for the future, or draft picks or anything else than what we should be playing for every year: a chance to win it all.

So Celtics fans, in unison, please take a moment to look at that 25-8 mark right now and be grateful for what we have.  Because it could be a hell of a lot worse.
