Celtics/Bobcats Post Game Videos

Celts dominate Bobcats from start, improve to 14-4

Thibs playing MORE defense :)

This game was really great.  I was expecting a tough, hard-fought contest.  Sure it helped Gerald Wallace picked up 2 early fouls.  But the Celts' play from start to finish was convincing.  It's these types of games that make me say "no this team is not too old" when they don't play well.  That the reason they don't play well at certain times is because there's no ball movement and it's "Get the ball to Paul and let him do something."

My thoughts:
  • Ray and Perk played like All NBA players today.  When Allen's shot is falling from the outside, his game is really a thing of beauty to watch.  He finished with 27 points.  Perk had 21, 11 and 3 blocks.  His through-the-legs move against Mohammed near the end was amazing.  He has grown tremendously this year.
  • Both Perk and Rondo are such better players then they were on the 2008 title team.  I never knew they'd become this great, especially Perkins.  Rajon was solid again tonight with 8 points and 9 assists, really controlling the tempo of the game.
  • Nazr Mohammed played like an all-star.  It seems that technical foul he picked up for going after KG (pictured above) really inspired him.  Otherwise I think the thing he's best known for in his NBA career is getting held up at gun point along with Antoine Walker a few years back.

The Bobcats are one of those young and athletic teams that always seem to give the Celtics problems. In their first meeting this season, The Celtics home opener, the Celtics beat the Bobcats 92-59. But, that was when the Celtics were playing wire to wire defense. We haven't seen that type of defense from the Celtics recently and so I don't see them winning near as easily this time.

The Bobcats have won 4 in a row since adding Jackson and are playing very well. Jackson gives them another scorer and defender and give the Celtics another player they must stay home on for defense. The Celtics have also won 4 in a row but their effort has been up and down.

The Bobcats have been off since Saturday and are at home while the Celtics are playing in the second game of a 4 game road trip and on one day rest. The old question of rest vs rust will come into play. Will the Bobcats be rusty at the start or will they be well rested and ready to come out strong.

After their beat down on the Celtics court in their first meeting, the Bobcats will be looking for a measure of revenge. The Celtics need to come out strong and play for 4 quarters and not just two. The Bobcats are not the pushover team they used to be and if the Celtics take them lightly, they will make them pay.
