NBA News: T-Mac practices & Brandan Wright goes under the knife

The Houston Chronicle reports that Tracy McGrady practiced with the Rockets yesterday fro the first time since his surgery, which sounds like great news, BUT
His first participation in training camp did not alter his schedule. General manager Daryl Morey said it was “part of the process.” The Rockets expect McGrady to be out at least until an MRI scheduled for Nov. 23. Still, he played and all reports were that he played well.
I think I might be one of the few people that still thinks that McGrady has a lot left in the tank, but we'll see...well not for a couple months at least, but eventually.

The San Francisco Chronicle  confirms that Brandan Wright is going under the knife
As expected, Brandan Wright will have surgery to repair damage to his left shooting shoulder, the Warriors announced before Sunday's preseason lid lifter.

The team didn't set a timetable for the forward's return, but recovery for such surgeries is usually between 4-6 months. Wright had his left shoulder dislocated on a hard foul during Friday's scrimmage.

I remember back in the winter of 2007 when the clear cut top 3 in the draft was Oden, Durant and Brandan Wright. Other guys stock rose and Wright's stock fell. He was rumored to be a centerpiece in a Golden State offer for KG. Now his future is a lot less sure to say the least. Btw, what is a "lid lifter?"
