Celtics preseason basketball tips off tonight

Boston Celtics basketball is back. First preseason game for the Celtics tips off in Memphis tonight at 8:00 PM EST. The Grizzlies are 0-1 after losing their first preseason game to the Detroit Pistons.

This preseason game will offer a chance to see the Celtics' new roster following several offseason changes. Jaylen Brown who undoubtedly will take on a more prominent offensive role with Tatum out is expected to play limited minutes due to his knee, while the Grizzlies will be without Ja Morant (ankle), Jaren Jackson Jr. (toe), Zach Edey (ankle), and Brandon Clarke (knee).

The Celtics are expected to implement a higher-tempo offensive system under coach Joe Mazzulla this season.
