Houston Rockets acquire Kevin Durant in trade with Phoenix Suns

ESPN's Shams Charania is reporting that the Phoenix Suns have traded Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets. In return the The Phoenix Suns will aquire guards Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in this Wednesday's NBA draft and five second rounders.

The Suns move on from their unsuccessful attempt to win a title by adding Kevin Durant to their Devin Booker led roster. The Suns mortgaged their future just two years ago when they traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first rounders to the Nets for Durant. Brooklyn then flipped Bridges for five additional first rounders.

The Suns will now hope that Jalen Green and Devin Booker can mesh as they retool while Ime Udoka's Rockets will look to contend for a title next season adding Durant to their already stacked young roster. Reports are that it came down to the Rockets and Heat for KD's services with Houston prevailing.
