Tatum told agent "I gotta get traded" when Celtics signed Hayward

In 2017 Jayson Tatum was drafted by the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference who had just used a top lottery selection on another small forward in Jaylen Brown the year prior. After Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens were able to get All-Star small forward Gordon Hayward to sign a few weeks later, Tatum didn't see a route to any playing time.

At that point in his career Hayward was actually quite the ironman in terms of games played. Anyway, Tatum claims he asked his agent for a trade, and was immediately calmed down and told what a great organization the Celtics are and the rest is history.
