Celtics sign Jrue Holiday to $135 million contract extension

Th Boston Celtics are expecting a major contribution from Jrue Holiday during what hopes to be a long playoff run. Holiday who was due to be a free agent this summer will be sticking around in Boston for the next four years as he and the team have agreed to a $135 million contract extension.

The expectation after trading for Holiday in the Fall was for the team to do what it took to retain Holiday and they bountied up with this offer. Jrue who will turn 34 in June scores one last major pay day and gets to remain in Boston, so it's a double win for him.

Next up for Brad Stevens and the Celtics will be inking Derrick White to a new extension, as well as the inevitable super max contract agreement with Jayson Tatum.
