Boston Obliterates Golden State 140-88 for Their 11th Straight Victory
The Boston Celtics sent a message to the rest of the NBA this afternoon, dismantling the Golden State Warriors 140-88 on ABC. The Celtics 82-38 halftime lead was the largest lead for Boston at the break in franchise histroy.
Today's win also served as the C's 3rd 50-point victory this year, becoming the 1st team in league history with 3 of those in a single season.
Jaylen Brown came out firing on Sunday afternoon, as JB scored 19 points in the 1st quarter to guide the C's to a 44-22 lead. Brown finished the afternoon with 29 points in just 22 minutes, as he continues to play fantastic basketball.
Jayson Tatum took his turn to torture the Warriors in the 2nd quarter, as JT scored 20 of his 27 points in the 2nd. Tatum concluded Sunday's showdown with 27 points and 5 assists on just 13 shots.
The Jays outplayed the entire Warriors roster in the 1st half, outscoring Golden State 47-38 as a tandem. That astonishing stat caused Golden State to wave the white flag during the break, benching their top 3 players for the entire 2nd half.
This was a big win for psychological reasons more than anything, as Golden State had won 5 of 6 against Boston since Game 4 of the 2022 Finals.Tatum/Brown: 47 points
