Tatum and Porzingis Combine for 69 Points as Boston Defeats Washington

Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis both had it going Friday night as the Celtics defeated the Wizards 133-129 at TD Garden.

Boston concludes their season-long homestand with a 5-2 record, winning the final 3 games after starting 2-2. 

After entering halftime facing a 7-point deficit, Boston really turned it on in the 3rd quarter, outscoring
Washington 36-13 to take control.
Jayson Tatum posted a near triple-double in tonight's contest, as JT finished with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Despite Washington trying all sorts of different coverages on Tatum, they really had no answer for the 5-time All-Star.

Kristaps Porzingis was a key part in the 3rd quarter barrage by the C's. KP was hitting from all over the court, as he put up 34 points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds. 

Kristaps' 34-point game included a 14/14 mark from the free throw line, which is his new career high for free throws made in a game. 

Jrue Holiday was excellent, recording 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. He continues to lead the league in corner 3-point percentage. Boston became the first team this season to reach 40 wins tonight, as they are now 40-12. 

With a current 5-game cushion in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are in the driver's seat to receive the number 1 seed for the NBA Playoffs.
