Celtics and Jaylen Brown pause contract negotiations while All-Star heads back overseas
The Celtics attempted to make Jaylen Brown the highest paid player in the NBA this week, but talks have been put on pause until Jaylen Brown returns stateside again. Eventually Jaylen will agree to a deal since he can't get anywhere close to $300 million elsewhere, but we'll have to wait and see if Brad Stevens caves on things like a player option year or trade kicker.
According to a league source, Jaylen Brown is headed overseas for an NBPA event and contract negotiations with the Celtics are expected to pause while he’s gone. Both sides remain confident that a deal will be struck, but there will be a delay.
