Joel Embiid doubtful for Game 1
The Philadelphia 76ers received grim news today, as Joel Embiid is officially doubtful to play in game 1 against the Boston Celtics on Monday night. This is a huge blow for Philly, as Embiid spearheads them on both ends of the floor and will be tough to replace.
The LCL sprain that Embiid is dealing with is typically a 4-6 week injury, but with the Sixers season on the line, he'll try to rush back and play through the pain. Stay tuned for more updates on his status as the series progresses.Doc Rivers says Joel Embiid didn’t do anything today, and “if he’s a betting man, would say he’s doubtful” for Game 1.

Source: Joel Embiid is experiencing a lot of pain in that right knee. His LCL sprain is typically a 4-6 week recovery. I’m told it would be a pleasant surprise if he were able to play in either of the first two games in Boston.
