Once the NBA returns in approximately five weeks, the plan is for a three week training camp, followed by eight regular season games and then the playoffs. That should take the 2019-20 season into early October.

Then within a week there will be the 2020 NBA Draft followed by a very condensed offseason of about four weeks.
Many of dates the NBA shared with teams today -- including Draft Lottery, Draft -- are considered tentative. The NBA and NBPA have a long list of financial and compeititve items to negotiate for the 2020-21 season, included with a Nov. 10 camp opening off an October 12 Game 7. https://t.co/o4w31CZWn4— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 4, 2020
You can see why the NBA Players Association is like, "Let's hold our horses and our carriages a bit," since there would only be a few weeks for free agency. So expect some tweaking, but this is the vernal plan according to reports.
