USA eliminated from FIBA World Cup after Quarterfinals loss to France

Well people were warning this could happen. With an abundance of NBA stars dropping out this summer, Team USA was vulnerable to lose for the first time since 2006 and unfortunately that happened tonight as France defeated Team USA 89 to 79. The loss snaps a 58 game win streak for Team USA.

Donavan Mitchell tried to carry Team USA to victory with 29 points, but France's NBA players Evan Fournier (22 points) and Rudy Gobert (21 points, 16 rebounds) prevailed in the end.

Celtics Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown had 11 points, 10 points, and 9 points. No other Team USA player (besides Mitchell) had more than 5.
