Before you ask, the answer is yes. Isaiah Thomas is still relevant Boston Celtics news. I will always have a soft spot for IT and I will always find it important to stay updated on his career. His offensive explosion for the Celtics in 2016-17 could be the most impressive display of talent and will that I’ve witnessed on a basketball court night-in night-out for a full season.
With the recent news that he injured his thumb during this off-season makes me really feel for the guy. I was hoping that he’d hit the ground running and play a role for the Washington Wizards this upcoming season. His season is not in jeopardy, as he expected to miss 6-8 weeks, so he could still find that revival that he deserves.
Hurt my damn thumb tryna play defense... Never again lol never again!— Isaiah Thomas (@isaiahthomas) September 19, 2019
It’s remarkable the bad string of luck that he’s had after leaving it all on the parquet for the Celtics. Since leaving the Celtics after 2017, he has played in just 44 games over two seasons for three teams. The biggest issue has been his hip, which he was hoping to prove that he has recovered from this year.
Man, IT’s had some tough luck.— Chris Forsberg (@ChrisForsberg_) September 18, 2019
Wizards visit TD Garden on Nov. 13, just about the tail end of that timetable. https://t.co/0cQn7fnq2K
The timing of his return could be right around the time Washington comes to Boston on November 13th. Let’s hope for a speedy recovery so he can get the opportunity to play in the Garden which is where he became the King of the Fourth. Now time for some nostalgia:
