Marcus Morris agrees to 2 year, $20 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs
Free agent forward Marcus Morris has agreed to a two-year, $20M deal with the San Antonio Spurs, with a second-year player option, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) July 6, 2019
The Celtics acquired Morris two summers ago when they had to move one of Marcus Smart, Jae Crowder, or Avery Bradley to have the cap space to finalize the Gordon Hayward signing. Morris ended up outplaying the player he was traded for in Avery Bradley and was a key cog in the team's exciting 2018 playoff run.
When the team reacclimated injured stars Kyrie Irving and Hayward back into the mix this past season, Morris' role lessoned and I believe a new start in San Antonio will be best for all parties.
Thanks for your time in Boston Marcus.
