Rob Williams has been assigned to Maine Red Claws - will see action tonight
Celtics rookie Rob Williams has been assigned to the Maine Red Claws and is expected to see action tonight against the Westchester Knicks. This is an expected move since Rob's chance for playing time with the Celtics right now is slim. And he can use more floor time, which he will get in Maine.

Williams has shown some positive signs in his limited minutes thus far with Boston. It is a certainty that he will add fans to the stands in Maine (per PressHerald's Glenn Jordan):
Remy Cofield, the Boston scout and Red Claws general manager, said the Celtic most likely to see extensive time in Maine this season is rookie power forward Robert Williams, who was selected 27th overall in the June draft. “Our bigs situation right now, with Daniel Theis (foot) being out, makes it a little more dicey,” Cofield said, “but at the same time, giving Rob the minutes he needs at this level to better ramp up and be able to play more and more minutes at the NBA level would be huge for us.”

I will be tracking Rob's performance with the Red Claws, and I expect he will do very well. He looks very promising for a big man taken towards the end of the first round, and his style of play is exciting.
