Report: Daniel Theis out for the year with a torn meniscus
Sources: Celtics center Daniel Theis has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and will undergo season-ending surgery. Theis emerged as an important reserve for Boston this season.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) March 12, 2018
Here's the play when @dtheis10 tore his meniscus, late in the fourth quarter of last night's game. It was actually Oladipo with... season-ending crossover.

You can see Theis limping but he did come back to the game later. pic.twitter.com/nFgzjPM1E7
Terrible news for Theis and the Celtics. Theis had established himself this season in his rookie campaign as a solid rotation big man in today's game. He was fitting in better and better as the season went along. Hopefully he can return by training camp at 100%.
Greg Monroe will have to step up in Theis' absence. While neither an ideal defender nor a floor spacer which are both needed in today's game, Monroe can add a solid post game and rebounding to the mix. It will be up to Brad Stevens to figure out a way to use Monroe's post game to an advantage without stymieing the offense.
We'll update this post if more news emerges.
