Jae Crowder finishes 6th, Isaiah Thomas 8th for Most Improved Player Award

The Portland Trail Blazers' CJ McCollum won the NBA's Most Improved Player Award, but two of our Celtics placed in the voting, and each received at least 1 first place vote. Jae Crowder finished 6th with 1 first place vote, and Isaiah Thomas finished 8th with 3 first place votes.

I think McCollum was a very deserving choice, and there were a lot of tough players to beat for Crowder and Thomas, as this year seemed to have more players getting MIP attention for going from star to superstar than usual with Kawhi Leonard, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green also finished in the top 10. The top 3 vote getters were McCollum, Charlotte's Kemba Walker, and Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo. The complete listing is below.

The fact that Crowder and Thomas were probably our best two players last season and both improved enough to get some attention across the league is very impressive. It also reminds us how frustrating it is that they are both hampered now when it matters most, IT somewhat with his wrist and Jae much more severely with his ankle. No es frio people. Not cool.
