Up and coming Celtics increase their national presence

Last season ESPN, ABC, and TNT broadcasted 143 regular season games and the Celtics were scheduled to play in exactly one of them. And even that appearance was scratched and then rescheduled, as the powers that be hemmed and hawed over whether or not the Celtics were worthy of being seen outside of CSNNE's coverage map. But after last year's unexpected march to the playoffs, basketball fans across the country will be seeing more of Brad Stevens' boys this coming season.

Yes, the hapless Los Angeles Lakers still outrank us on a national level and the nation will be force fed the New York Knicks just as many times as they see the Celtics this year, but overall this seems about right. The rebuilding Celtics have climbed back into the middle class of the NBA, and seven national TV games reflects an acknowledgment that the C's are a team worth watching. Let's hope that Green still have a lot to play for when their April Fool's Day tilt with the Golden State Warriors rolls around. Take a look at our analysis of the rest of the schedule here.
