Celtic For Life: Pierce, Wizards fall short against Hawks

With the Celtics eliminated from the playoffs, and a little time between when we should start deep diving into the offseason, CelticsLife will be starting a new column called 'Celtic For Life,' recapping games involving The Truth

There's this urban legend that no one's sure is totally true. Legend has it that if an opposing crowd chants 'Paul Pierce sucks,' 2001 Paul Pierce reappears and destroys the hope and souls of the fan base that so foolishly decided to chant it. Raptors fans swear it's true. Celtics fans just accept it to be true.

So it was a curious decision when the cloud at the Fortress decided to toe the line, chanting 'Paul Pierce sucks' minutes into the second half.

Unfortunately Paul Pierce, professional dream murderer, never truly surfaced with the vigor many have accustomed to; Netting 15 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist as the John Wall-less Wizards fell short to the Hawks 106-90. The game was actually much more competitive than the final score would appear, as the Wizards, led by - who else - Ramon Sessions (21 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds) stayed frisky through the first three and a half quarters until the Hawks pulled away; Outscoring the Wizards 26-15 in the game's final quarter.

Game 3 will take place in Washington on Saturday at 5pm. Giving Paul Pierce three full days to really consider if he sucks or not.
