Jay Larranaga opts to stay put
According to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Brad Stevens' right-hand man Jay Larranaga has turned down an opportunity to interview for the head coaching position at George Mason University.
Sources: Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga has declined to become a candidate at George Mason, committed to Boston and NBA coaching career.

Well, scratch those reports from earlier in the week.
After losing Ron Adams to Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors last season, it's good to see that Larranaga will be around for at least one more season.
His decision to stay with Boston is ultimately to pursue a head coaching gig in the NBA, something that seems like a very realistic outcome.
Larranaga is Boston's top assistant, well-regarded by Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge. He's considered a future head coaching candidate in NBA.
