Paul Pierce passes Alex English on the NBA all-time scoring list

With a three-pointer in the opening minutes of the Washington Wizards game against the Charlotte Hornets, Paul Pierce passed Alex English for 15th all-time on the NBA scoring list:

Pierce has 25,622 career points and has his sights on two former C's legends:

Kevin Garnett is still adding to his 25,884 points, but you have to wonder if this could be KG's last season. One of the all-time greats, John Havlicek, is in Pierce's crosshairs with 26,395 career points.

Don't worry, I am not including Dominique Wilkins as a Celtics' legend.

The question is, how long can Pierce continue to lace up his Nikes? The former C's captain has 36 more games to play this year. It's possible that The Truth can average at least 10 points per game for the next two seasons, giving PP an additional 1,640 points, plus whatever scoring numbers he puts up for the remainder of this season.

This gives the 15-year veteran a legitimate chance to pass Hakeem Olajuwon, Elvin Hayes and Moses Malone to move to as high as 8th on the all-time scoring list.
