According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, the Celtics are first seeking trade options for newly-acquired vet Tayshaun Prince before discussing buy-out options. Already, the Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest:

If Prince doesn't want to stay in Boston, the Celtics would pursue trade avenues before agreeing to buyout, source said.

A buyout, however, is the preferred method of acquiring Prince for the asset-strapped Clippers.
