Marcus Thornton "close" to returning, Jared Sullinger's return uncertain
Reserve guard Marcus Thornton has been nursing a torn calf muscle over the past few weeks and it seems his return is imminent. According to Jay King of MassLive.com, Thornton practiced yesterday but did not participate in all of the drills. The Celtics tweeted an update regarding his availability for tomorrow's contest against Sacramento:
Marcus Thornton practiced on Monday but sat out some portions of the session. His status for tomorrow is still unknown.

Jared Sullinger sprained his ankle in Washington on Saturday and said he did not expect to miss any games. However, Brad Stevens vague comments sounded as though he may be out for a brief period:
"I don't think it's a long, long-term injury," head coach Brad Stevens said Monday. "But I don't know what the means this week."
Sully on if he'll play tomorrow: "I don't know. We'll see."
