Recap: Celtics stave off late comeback attempt by the Bulls, winning 106-101 on the road

The Celtics came out firing in the early goings of this game scoring the bulk of their points with their quick transition game.

At the same time the Bulls struggled to find their shot starting off 0-7.

That all changed after an early timeout call from old friend Tom Thibodeau. The Bulls came out of that timeout by going on a 23 to 8 run to close the quarter.

The Celts went on a run of their own however, ending the half on a 27 to 8 run and outscoring the Bulls 36 to 16 in the second quarter

The Bulls couldn't seem to buy a bucket in the opening minutes of the second half.

The opposite could be said about the team in green as they went 12 for 19 from the field in the 3rd quarter.

The Celtics continued to drain their shots in the fourth and staved off a close comeback attempt from Chicago.

The offence was spread out over the entire roster with seven Celtics managing to hit double figures in points.

Kelly Olynyk filled out his stat sheet notching a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and came up with the big offensive board with less than twenty seconds left in the game.

Evan Turner led the C's with 19 points and 6 assists while filling in for Rajon Rondo in the starting lineup.

Aaron Brooks was impressive off the bench for the Bulls putting up 26 points, 19 of them in the 4th quarter and dished out 8 assists.

Big win for the Celtics, getting the W against the early favourites in the East without Rondo or Marcus Smart.

Next up for Boston is a home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night on CSNNE.
