Initial tests show sprain, but nothing more for Marcus Smart

The TD Garden fell silent on Friday night when the Celtics sixth overall pick, Marcus Smart,  was being stretchered off the court with, what seemed to be, a serious ankle injury.

Smart's x'rays last night were negative showing no sign of a break and today Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports even more good new for the C's rookie.
Late reports from sources indicated that preliminary tests show a bad sprain and nothing more. it is expected that Smart could miss two weeks, but may be out longer depending on what precautions the team chooses to take with his return. More will be known in the next two days, as it is seen how he responds to early treatment for the swelling.
and exhale.

Still, tough to see a kid like Smart go down, but he did get a taste of how dedicated Boston fans are as the crowd chanted "Mar-cus Smart!" over and over as team doctors were catering to him on the floor.

See you in a couple weeks.
