Celtics take on Mavericks in second game of Texas two step

After a discouraging and somewhat embarrassing (1-25 from 3) loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday the Celtics turn around and play the Dallas Mavericks tonight at American Airlines Center.

That same night, the Mavs endured 31, 15 and three blocks from newly twitter verified superstar Anthony Davis on their way to a slim 109-104 victory over the Pelicans in a game played at The Smoothie King Center.

Dallas will once again present matchup and rebounding problems, much like Houston did, for Boston due to reacquiring 7'1 Tyson Chandler from the Knicks in the off season.

Chandler hasn't put up huge numbers so far but he's a big body to occupy in the middle allowing for more opportunities for perimeter players such as Chandler Parsons.

Speaking of The Tyson Chandler Parsons Project (not to be confused with The Alan Parsons Project), it appears to be going well as Chandler Parsons is averaging 20.5 in his last two games after dropping a five point dud against the Spurs in the Mavs first game.

Parsons signed a three year 46 million dollar guaranteed contract with the Mavericks in the summer.

Other than Dirk Nowitzki another player to keep an eye on is Monta Ellis. He's not quite the scoring machine he was in Golden State for a couple of seasons, mostly because he doesn't have to be, but still is one of the most fun offensive players in the league to watch:

It will be interesting to see how Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart respond to the challenge of Ellis after giving up 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists to Arizona State University product James Harden in the Rockets game.

Tip off is 8:30PM ET.
