Ron Adams officially leaves for Golden State
According to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe, Ron Adams has accepted an offer to join Steve Kerr's Warriors staff.
Adams still had two years left on his contract with Boston, but contemplated what he called a "difficult decision" before accepting a multiyear offer with Golden State on Sunday.
"I have nothing but great things to say about the Celtics organization, Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens," Adams said.
This decision does not come out of left field. Nevertheless, Adams played a notable (but lesser sung) role that now leaves Celtics' organization while hardly ever saying hello. He only spent a single season with the Celtics.
With a vacant assistant coaching position, Brad Stevens may likely turn to Jay Larranaga, who was interviewed for the Celtics' head coaching position after Doc Rivers left to coach the Clips last summer.
