Video: ESPN debates whether LeBron James or Larry Bird was better in their prime

Not sure why ESPN decided to debate this topic now and obviously we're a little biased over here, but Jemele Hill thinking LeBron James is a better player than Larry Bird was in his prime is nonsense. As Michael Smith contested (not the Michael Smith of WTHHT legend), "Larry Bird was the baddest son of a gun on the planet."

LeBron is a polarizing figure, but I give credit where it's due and he's an all-time dominant player, but mid 80's Larry Bird was just better. In his prime Larry Bird doesn't lose a series like the Heat did in 2011 to the Mavs. He just doesn't. In his prime Larry Bird doesn't almost lose to an old Spurs team in 6 games like LeBron would have if not for Ray Allen's 3 pointer. LeBron may put up another dominant 6 years or so and he may climb the ranking of the all-time greatest list, but in his prime he doesn't stack up to Larry Joe Bird.

If you recall Jemele got suspended by ESPN back in 2008 for this quote: "Rooting for the Celtics is like saying Hitler was a victim. It's like hoping Gorbachev would get to the blinking red button before Reagan. Deserving or not, I still hate the Celtics." Pretty hard for Celtics fans to pay her any mind since then.
