Laker Nick Young celebrates missed three-pointer in record-setting blowout over Knicks
The Knicks are fighting for their playoff lives, and heading into yesterday's matchup in LA had closed within 2.5 games of the Hawks for the East's final spot. Meanwhile the Lakers "trailed" Boston by just half a game for the 5th spot in the lottery standings, and were only one "behind" Utah for 4th. Yet for some reason LA trounced New York last night, 127-96; a nice "win win" for Celtics fans.
The Lakers managed to score a franchise record 51 points in the 3rd quarter (also the most the Knicks had ever allowed in a quarter), and it would have been 54 if this three-pointer had gone down the way Nick Young expected it too:
