Kobe Bryant wants Mike D'Antoni out

Months after modeling for a photo entitled 'Awkwardness, Defined' (featured above), it appears as if the relationship between Kobe Bryant and Mike D'Antoni has turned sour. How much so? According to the Sporting News, The Black Mamba wants Mr. Pringles out of LA before the start of next season:

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reported on Wednesday morning that he had heard D’Antoni would be out, and that the Lakers’ potential pursuit of free-agent Carmelo Anthony would be the reason. But multiple sources told Sporting News that the reason for D’Antoni’s potential dismissal is closer to home—star guard Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, sources said, has “no interest” in playing for D’Antoni next season, and wants a new coach in place for the ’14-’15 season.

It's hard to blame Bryant. At 22-42, the Lakers have been nothing short of a disappointment. Particularly when you consider that the team is populated by marquee names like "That guy who used to be on the Timerbwerwolves", "Funny shirt guy", "That dude... you know who I'm talking about... that dude...you'd know him if you saw him", and 40 year old Steve Nash.

With Phil Jackson heading to New York, it's unclear who Bryant would see as a good fit for D'Antoni's replacement. But with the field so open, it's definitely too soon to rule out anyone.
