Rajon Rondo: "I'm making star money now"

"Wait...I can make how much?!"
Interesting words from Rajon Rondo via the Metro West Daily News:

In his first home game since being named captain, Rondo spoke to the Boston media pregame for the first time all season. He said he's not a big fan of change, so her would be very open to remaining with the Celtics after his contract expires next year.

When asked if he will be seeking "star money" in his next deal, Rondo replied: "I'm making star money now."

It's nice to see Rondo not taking things for granted. Regardless of what Rondo could be making, he obviously understands that 13 million isn't such a shabby salary.

Now, does this mean he won't ask for a max or near-max deal in the future? I'm not so sure.

Of course, Rondo just declined an extension offer from General Manager Danny Ainge, which Ainge himself expected. It will be interesting to see what kind of payday Rondo earns with his new contract.

Let's play GM.

Would you pay Rondo?
