Celtics lose to Pelicans 95-92; fall to 13-20 as West Coast trip looms

The Celtics lost to the Pelicans 95-92 tonight, as 2nd year phenom Anthony Davis went for 23 points and 9 rebounds for New Orleans. Boston was led by Avery Bradley (22 points) and Brandon Bass (16 points on 8-10 shooting).

The Cs were killed by Jordan Crawford and Jared Sulinger, who went a combined 5-31 from the field. The Celtics once again were in the game until the very last possession, when Sullinger missed a three that would have sent the game to overtime. Unlike their last few home games, the Celts got off to a slow start before gaining momentum, but were done in by Davis' brilliance.

Boston now heads out on their hardest road trip of the season, a five games in seven night tour with stops in Oklahoma City, Denver, Los Angeles, Golden State and Portland. The Cs are now 13-20, still only 1/2 game out of the 8-seed in the East, but also only 3 games back of the 2nd worst record in the NBA.

By the end of this upcoming road trip, there could be quite a few more ping pong balls in the Celtics future.
