Celtics fall to 4-6; Lose at home to Blazers 109-96

The losing skid continues as the Boston Celtics lost to the Portland TrailBlazers 109-96. Tonight's contest was a back and forth game from the opening tip. While the Celtics were able to keep it close for the majority of the game, this one slipped away in the 2nd half, specifically 4th quarter.

The Celtics bench continues to impress this season with strong play at every turn. Jared Sullinger's team’s best +/- rating, Gerald Wallace's instant energy, and contributions from Courtney Lee, Phil Pressey, and Vitor all stood as things to be happy about despite falling to a 4-6 season record. As Tommy Heinsohn so eloquently put it, "It's not for lack of trying. This team is a work in progress."

Speaking of Sullinger, the young big had a career night in Boston with a stat line of 24 Points, 8 Rebound, 2 Assist, 1 Steal.

The story of this game was that the Blazers really found their groove in the second half which coincided with the Celtics losing theirs. With three tough road games coming up against the Timberwolves, Rockets, and Spurs, the Celtics will look to get back to form and heat up before returning to Boston.
