Kobe Bryant won't take pay cut

Typical selfish Kobe Bryant. Unlike other stars, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, and other aging players, Kobe Bryant said next summer he will not take a pay cut to help the Los Angeles Lakers improve their team. SBnation reports that the highest paid player in the NBA will be looking to "get his" next summer.

I'm not taking any (pay cut) at all - that's the negotiation that you have to have," Kobe Bryant told Lakers Nation in an exclusive interview at his Kobe Basketball Academy on Wednesday. "For me to sit here and say, ‘Oh yeah, I'm just going to take a huge pay cut. Nah, I'm going to try to get as much as I possibly can.

You can say what you want about Kobe, his great mental, physical toughness and competitive spirit, but he has always been about himself. LeBron even took a pay cut to give himself a better shot to win, just saying. If Kobe wants anything close to the money he is making this season, 30 million dollars, the Lakers won't have much room to sign players, which will be great in my eyes because I hate them.

Does Kobe owe the Lakers to take a pay cut? Or do you agree he should get as much as he can? Comment below.
