Doc Talks to Jackie Mac

After being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, Doc Rivers sat down to talk with Jackie MacMullan.

Doc professed his love for Beantown, saying "I always knew when I took the job with Boston that I would love the Celtics. I knew I would love the tradition and the players. But I had no idea how much I would fall in love with the city and the people in it. Honestly, I get emotional thinking about it. I will cherish every single moment I had in Boston."

The cynic in me wonders why, if Rivers loves Boston so much, he's taking his talents to Tinseltown.

However, I, too, will cherish Doc's tenure: the motivational speeches; frantic timeout calls; and championship Gatorade shower.

It's sad to see Coach Rivers go after all the great memories, but I respect how genuinely he appreciates the city of Boston and its fans. Here's hoping that the C's new helmsman wins with class the way that Doc did.
