The Game Winner

To be honest, I didn't think the C's could pull this off.  Trailing for most of the game and down by 14 midway through the 3rd quarter, the Celtics, I thought, were beginning to tire on the second night of  back-to-back road games.  But slowly their resolve surfaced.  First through the Big Ticket, then through the Captain, and then on through the rest of the team - JET, Avery, Courtney, Jeff...

Then came the big play in the dying seconds of the game: With the score tied at 81 Jeff Green lobs the ball to KG at the high post, then curls around him and Pierce, immediately cutting hard to the hoop.  KG then finds Jeff underneath the basket with a rather excited pass which almost escaped Green's extended reach.  The pass looked to be an alley-oop attempt gone awry but after grabbing the ball out of mid-air, Jeff calmly brought the rock back down then laid it up on the other side of the hoop for the winner!

The play was the perfect ending to last night's remarkable rally victory - a win which at one point seemed to be out of the Celtics' reach but was later captured through grit and realized with composure.  Shame on me for doubting these C's.

(ps - love the frozen looks of the Pacers fans in this image.  They knew what was coming.)
